Special Services
Throughout the year, we celebrate and observe the following holidays:
Selichot
Prayers for forgiveness (Selichot) are recited the week before Rosh Hashanah. On Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 8:30 pm, we will gather to study and pray in preparation for the High Holy Days. We will begin with a reading of Merle Feld's powerful and moving play, The Gates Are Closing.  A discussion will follow and refreshments will be served.  At 10:30 we will begin with a Havdalah Service, change the Torah covers, and conclude with Selichot prayers and poems.  Please rsvp to the Temple office by August 30th.
Rosh Hashanah
Welcome the New Year with us. The Erev Rosh Hashanah Service is Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 8 pm (tickets required). The first day Morning Service will be held on Thursday, September 9th at 10 am (tickets required). Babysitting is available for children in 3rd grade or younger. Please call the office to register your child. Tashlich will be held after services. All are welcome.

A Children’s Service will be held at 3 pm on September 9th. This half-hour service will include singing, basic prayers, a story and the blowing of the shofar. All are welcome.

A morning service will be held on the second day of Rosh Hashanah, September 10th, at 10 am (tickets required). Babysitting and children’s programs are not available for this service.
Yom Kippur
The Kol Nidre Service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2009 at 8 pm (tickets required). The Yom Kippur Morning Service is at 10 am on September 18th (tickets required). Babysitting is available for children in 3rd grade or younger. Please call the Temple office to register your child. A Children’s Service will be held at 2:30 pm. This half-hour service is open to everyone.

The Yom Kippur Afternoon Service will begin at 3:30 pm (tickets required). The Yizkor & Concluding Service will begin approximately 5 pm. Tickets for this service are $18 and must be purchased in advance.
Sukkot
Sukkot Services will be held on Wednesday, September 22nd at 7 pm. Children are invited to come at 6:30 to decorate the sukkah. They should bring vegetables, gourds, or flowers. A Sukkot Morning Servics will be held on Thursday, September 23rd at 10 am. All are welcome.
Simchat Torah
A Simchat Torah Service will be held on Wednesday, September 29th at 7 pm. This service celebrates the conclusion of the annual cycle of Torah readings. All are welcome. On Tuesday, September 28th at 8 pm, we will hold a Yizkor Service.  All are welcome.
Chanukah 
Join us on Sunday, December 5th at 10 am for a Zimriah [song festival] followed by Brotherhood’s Bernie Friend Latke Bash at 11. All are welcome. 
Tu B’Shevat
Celebrate the Festival of Trees at Temple Isaiah on Wednesday, January 19, 2010 at 6 pm. There will be a seder which includes dinner and singing. All are welcome; reservations are required for the dinner.
Purim
On Saturday, March 19th at 7 pm, join us for a Purimspiel and the reading of the Megillah at our Purim Service.  We will hold our Purim Carnival on Sunday, March 20th at 10 am. All are welcome.
Passover
Passover begins at sundown on Monday, March 18th. A Passover Service will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at 10 am. A Yizkor Service will take place on Sunday, March 24th at 8 pm. All are welcome.
Yom Hashoah
Commemorate with us the tragedy of the Holocaust on Saturday, April 30th at 7:30 pm. All are welcome.
Shavuot
Shavuot celebrates the giving of the Torah by God at Mount Sinai. Join us on Tuesday, June 7th at 6 pm for dinner, study, and a service (reservations are required for dinner) and on Wednesday, June 8th at 10 am for the Shavuot Morning Service. All are welcome.

Ticket Information for Congregants

At Temple Isaiah, we have always encouraged all members of our congregation’s families to worship in the sanctuary with each other.   Please contact the Temple office to request courtesy High Holy Day tickets for each family member (parents, grandparents, grown children, married children and their spouses, siblings and their spouses) who will be attending services with you.   The cost is $54 for the first ticket and $36 for each additional ticket. The courtesy-ticket fee is waived for all dependent children of members residing in their households.  It is also waived for all children who are full-time students.  They will be admitted to High Holy Day services upon presentation of a current student ID card.

Ticket Information for Non-Congregants

Tickets can be purchased for $350 each.  The tickets are good for all High Holy Day Services.  This fee can be applied toward membership if you join by Chanukah.  Tickets to attend our Yizkor Service only are $18.  Please see below for more information.

Yizkor Services
It is customary to recite Yizkor four times a year for all those you wish to commemorate. During the first year of mourning, the mourner should recite Yizkor with the congregation. Yizkor will be recited at the following services:
Yom Kippur* (Saturday, September 18, 2010, approximately 5 pm)
Simchat Torah (Wednesday, September 28, 2010 at 8 pm)
Passover (Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 8 pm)
Shavuot (Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 8 pm)
*A ticket is required for our Yom Kippur Yizkor Service.  Tickets are $18 each and will be be issued on: 
Tuesday, September 7th from 2 to 4 pm
Tuesday, September 14th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm
Please bring a photo ID with you when you purchase your tickets and when you come to service.
