We are proud of Temple Isaiah’s excellent Religious School. Our Religious School teachers are certified and are well-respected members of our community. The school nurtures creativity in the arts and helps to develop concepts through a variety of pedagogical techniques. Our program follows the URJ (Reform movement’s) curriculum and attempts to engage the family.
Educational Director
Educational Director Rabbi Harvey Witman has been our Religious School Principal since 1986. His background in both the Reform and Conservative movements has included formal as well as informal education. He is an active member of Long Island Temple Educators as well as the Suffolk County Principals Council. The strength of Temple Isaiah’s Religious School lies in the longevity of its extremely creative and dynamic faculty, of which Harvey Witman is a perfect example.
ALC Program
Temple Isaiah offers an Alternate Learning Class. This class meets on Sundays from 11:15 am to 1 pm. It is a program for students who are in resource rooms, ALC classes, or have Individual Education Programs. If your child has an alternative style of learning, please make an appointment with Mr. Witman at the Religious School office to insure proper placement for the 2005-2006 school year.
